Emerson wants out of politics?
Yesterday's local Metro news daily ran a story suggesting Emerson may want out of politics:
Emerson says he is not content being in the Conservative cabinet and would like to get out of politics if he could, according to a Liberal confidante.“He said he would have quit by now but his wife wouldn’t let him”, a source who chatted with the minister over lunch
In this morning's Toronto Star the previously unidentified source was named as Jay Epworth, Emerson's former legislative assistant.
Epworth, asked to evaluate Emerson's remarks to him, said, "I don't think he was feeding me a line or anything. He was saying what he felt."
Emerson's communications director unsurprisingly denies the conversation took place.
Regardless of how comfortable or not Mr. Emerson is in his position, the Campaign's position remains the same: democracy and due process were denied the people of Vancouver-Kingsway, and the votes of all Canadians have been devalued by the actions of Emerson and the Prime Minister. They can set things right by promptly calling a by-election for Vancouver-Kingsway.
