VANCOUVER (CKNW/AM980) - Over 500 people took to the streets today in M-P David Emerson's Vancouver-Kingsway riding to call for a return to democracy.

A determined crowd marched down Kingsway, waving banners and signs, calling for Emerson to step aside in order to restore democracy in the constituency and government.

Late last week Emerson said he knew about the "Walk for Democracy" and respected citizens' rights to protest and debate, but added he thinks his move to the Conservatives is a non-issue.
